Correction & Update: After seeing the owner's public response, I wanted to clarify a few things. First, I did negotiate a bit on the price, as the rifle had a visible crack in the stock. I asked if she’d consider $650 total including the box of ammo, not trying to get anything "free," just negotiating based on condition — which is common when buying used firearms. Second, the tax and fees were very confusing. I was told since the rifle was being shipped to Florida, I wouldn’t be charged Colorado sales tax. But I still paid 7.9% sales tax and a 3% card fee, totaling 10.9% in added costs. On top of that, a second 3% card fee was applied to shipping days later without warning. Yes, I would’ve been even more upset if I had bought it locally in Colorado and paid the full 14.4% (7.9% + 6.5%) tax like a resident. But the point is — the fees and taxes should have been clearly communicated before the final sale, and I regret not asking in person or double-checking the math at the time. Lastly, I’m surprised by the personal tone of the owner’s response. I never disrespected her or her business — I simply left a review to reflect my genuine experience. I don’t believe a customer deserves personal attacks for being confused about unexpected charges. I recently bought a 1916 Mauser from this store. The owner was kind and let me inspect the rifle over several visits, even offering a flashlight and taking $50 off the asking price, which I appreciated. However, the fees and unclear communication really hurt the experience. I was told the final price would be $630 after the discount and removal of the background check fee. But I ended up paying $768 total — with no clear breakdown until after I asked. The owner said, “I have to charge the regular Colorado sales tax of 7.9%, but did not charge the extra 6.5% we have to pay here as residents.” That’s 14.4% in tax, plus a 3% card processing fee, which wasn’t disclosed upfront. To make matters worse, she also charged me a 3% card fee on shipping, days after the sale, bringing a $65.90 USPS shipping cost up to $67.87 — again, without warning. I wanted to support a small business, but the layered fees, vague pricing, and poor communication made it feel like I was being nickeled-and-dimed after the fact. I hope others have a clearer experience than I did — but I personally wouldn’t buy from here again.
Excellent place to shop!! Very helpful attendant. We bought a shirt and figured out it was too small when we got back home they let us exchange it at no cost.
