Took my 1911 in for some fitting, John worked on installing a grip safety and had my gun for a week, picked up the gun and realized the grip safety was not engaging and the trigger pulled without pressing the grip safety. I took it to another gunsmith and they confirmed the safety was not installed correctly and no framework was done. I called the shop and explained to them that it wasn't done properly and Ashley took a confrontational tone and explained that "I didn't pay nearly the amount of money that the job was worth, and the fact that I took it to another gunsmith before taking it to them was why it wasn't working and that three people function tested the gun before signing it off. They offered to refund me for the grip safety and I countered and asked them to replace the grip safety instead. She spoke over me and didn't let me get a word in and essentially took offense that I took MY gun to another gunsmith to see exactly what they did wrong. I'm sorry but you guys don't know what you're doing and I wouldn't trust taking a hi-point to these people. I have another gunsmith that | trust but I decided to give a small business a chance, attached is the picture of the filing job they did, please look elsewhere. (Grip safeties are almost always a frame job, not a safety arm filing job). If I didn't pay nearly the amount of money for the job you quoted me on that is your problem, I didn't ask for discounts or handouts, I wanted it done right, money was never an issue. Edit: seeing as the business replied, I need to clear some things up. I never mentioned the firearm was function checked, it was given to me, it appeared to be fine so I walked off with it. Do a quick Reddit search on this business and you will see that not only do they screw over their local customers, but they do it across the nation. Reddit is infested with issues with them. My wife was the one in the background and couldn’t fathom that someone could talk to a customer the way that US patriot armory does, and was insisting on my hanging up seeing as it’s not worth arguing with someone who won’t let you speak. After speaking to a number of gun smithing friends, I can safely come to the conclusion that you are ripping off your customers. Of course no 1911 part will be drop in even if the label states it, it is a gunsmiths job to make the frame accept a beaver tail (they sell radius jig’s for this sort of thing not that you would know about them though ) and seeing as this radius needed just a small filing on the frame, the part could’ve been adapted without filing the SAFETY arm(whose job is to prevent the trigger from firing without engaging the grip safety, filing this would render the mechanism useless, and you might as well should just remove it entirely). You removed a safety feature from my firearm (I know there’s a hot debate around grip safeties but I digress) and I would’ve preferred someone to have been honest with me about it instead of blaming me for getting a second opinion. Who cares if someone else looked at it and put it back together? You don’t manufacture the weapon and the 1911 is not what anyone would call a proprietary design, google can tell you that you did something wrong. Your team doesn’t know how to work on firearms and it’s clear that they need to work on their customer service skills.

I’ve made multiple trips to US Patriot Armory and I have to say they have the most excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly service of any firearms retailer in the high desert! The store presentation is fantastic and they had an awesome selection of accessories for me to work with in building my ideal, personalized AR. Jason and Ashley were both incredibly helpful in answering all of my specific questions and finding the answers if they didn’t know them. I will always come back here for any and all needs I have in the future! Thanks guys!
