Arriving at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s in Lacey, you don’t feel like you’re pulling into a simple store — it feels more like the edge of a forest gateway 🌲. The air is cool, clean, and heavy with the scent of evergreen trees. Somewhere beyond the roads and parking lots, the land quietly rises into hills and distant mountains. Inside, the outdoor world continues without interruption. Wooden beams, stone textures, boats resting in display, walls of fishing gear, hunting equipment, boots, jackets — everything blends into a calm wilderness mood 🎣🦌👢. You move through the aisles as if walking through a lodge built at the boundary between town and forest. The aquariums glow softly, water moves slowly behind the glass, and the whole place feels steady and grounded. This isn’t about noise or urgency. It’s about preparation — for rivers, trails, cold mornings, campfires, and long days surrounded by trees 🏞️🔥. Even when families come in, even when kids line up near seasonal displays and holiday decorations, the space keeps its quiet strength ❄️🌲. There’s a sense that nature is always present here — not as a theme, but as something real waiting just outside the walls. I am writing in regards to the slow service that myself and other customers are receiving at the Lacey, Wa Cabelas. The first time we came to Cabelas was after Christmas to purchase a pistol. I walked away after waiting a half hour to be waited on and no one offered assistance. This occurred while employees were laughing and joking around. The second time I came back to buy the pistol I checked in again using the scan code and waited about 45 minutes to be waited on. Then it took another hour for the clerk to find the gun I ordered, and for him and me to take care of the paperwork along with having a supervisor review the docs. Now, I'm on my third visit. I received an email that my background check was completed. I scanned the code to "save my place in line". I have currently moved 4 spots in 45 minutes. This is unacceptable. Cabelas does not have enough staff to cover the gun department. Also, why is there not an associate that could just go and get my gun? So, I'm sitting here, waiting for all the other customers to go through their paperwork to buy a gun when my pick up would have taken 5 minutes. This is B.S.!! There are currently 13 people sitting here waiting for service and only 2 associates that can help.
